Hi I’m Heidi Fiedler! I help writers find ease and joy in the creative process with classes, coaching, and more. I’m so glad you’re here!
I do the deep thinking that's needed to transform ideas into children's books. I make picture books, chapter books, and nonfiction for kids with curious minds and kind hearts.
I believe books have the power to make us all feel a little less alone, and the best ones leave room for the reader's imagination. Whether it's a poetic picture book, a zippy early reader, or a kid-friendly take on the physics of time travel, my books are philosophical and filled with quirky tidbits, playful language, and lots of heart.
It's been my pleasure to work on hundreds of titles for clients ranging from Chronicle to Bravery Magazine. After working in publishing for nearly 20 years, I'm so excited to see my own picture books and chapter books making their way into the world.
I grew up singing, dancing, and putting on plays. Today I find nothing more relaxing than spending a few hours painting colorful abstracts, and I know there’s magic in writing a poem that no one else will read. I live with my husband and young son in Massachusetts. And I love getting to know other creative mothers, so please say hello! I offer manuscript critiques, coaching, and classes that are designed to energize your writing process. To learn more about my process and areas of expertise, download this guide. I've also done a few things that never made it on my resume.
